This made-in-USA Guild D-50 acoustic guitar is just back from the best luthier in the Southern Hemisphere (well I reckon he is anyhow!), Jim Cargill. Jim has done a simply stunning job as always, with the neck being removed and properly reset and new frets installed, a new correct bridge fitted, and a truly perfect refinish to the back of the neck which would never be picked as not original. Jim's work has revived this vintage Guild into one of the nicest acoustics I have ever played.

The D-50 model ran for 30 years, from 1963 to 1993. They are a Dreadnought, with 15 3/4 inch lower bout, 25 1/2 inch scale, solid Spruce top, solid Rosewood back and sides and Mahogany neck, with an Ebony fretboard and bridge. All super-quality timbers, which add up to a super-quality all-American acoustic guitar!

The Chesterfield headstock inlay was introduced in 1968.

Serial number on this guitar is 78542, placing its manufacture date in early 1973, when serials ran from 75602 to 95496. The guitar was produced in the Westerly, Rhode Island factory.

Great action, great tone, simply a grouse guitar. This is one you will keep for life. The guitar comes in a good strong SKB hard shell case.
