The head is a Selmer Treble n Bass MKIII, one of the early (1966-67) versions, which would have originally had the blue-on-black patterned grille cloth of the period covering the front panel lower half. A transformer in the amp is dated 1965, so I would say this would have been one of the very first MKIII models. It has the original and correct black plastic knobs and black control panel of the period. The back cover is missing. The speaker box probably dates from a year or two later, as it has the grille cloth of the '67-'69 period. However, it's the contents of the box that is amazing. A HUGE 18" Goodmans 8 ohm 100-watt speaker that just goes down and down...and down. This combination with my double-bass is fantastic, giving bucketloads of natural, unforced bass. The speaker is extremely efficient, as the 50watts supplied by the head sounds much, much bigger. This one will win no beauty contest, that's for sure. Definitely a user, not a looker!
