A very original example of a collectable vintage valve (or tube) guitar amplifier. Sears sold guitars and amplifiers through their catalogs throughout the 20th century. Playing through a Silvertone or Harmony amp was often the first time when a budding Bluesman was able to hear himself amplified. The Silvertone and Harmony amps were made by a variety of manufacturers and included nearly identical circuits to the Fenders, Gibsons, Danelectros, Premiers, Supros, Sanos, etc. Because they were made to be less expensive, these amps have been ignored by serious musicians until recently. Now, when you go a blues concert, there is likely to be a classic Silvertone guitar or amp on the stage.

This amp both looks and sounds great, and is in time-capsule collector condition. Output from its two 6L6GC valves (new JJ-Tesla) is around 50 watts. The amp also has 2 x 6CG7 valves, and no less than 4 12AX7s (all 6 being new Russian Electro-Harmonix).

It's also unique in the fact it has a "Nesting Cabinet", where the head tucks into the base of the speaker box for transporting - check out the 'more pictures' link below!

Speakers are the original Jensen "Special Design" 12-inch items, with even the original cones. Supplied with this amplifier are some of the original tubes, as well as a copy of the original Owner's Manual, service data & repair parts list, and schematic. Chassis number is 185.11040

The tremolo on this amp is fantastic, while the valve-driven reverb is about the cheesiest I have heard!
